Adult Ballet
Adult Ballet is a graceful and expressive dance class designed specifically for adults of all levels of experience and fitness. Whether you're a beginner with no prior training or have some training and are looking to refine your technique, this class provides a supportive and inclusive environment for adults to explore the beauty and discipline of ballet.

The class typically begins with a ballet barre warm-up session. Participants line up at the barre, a long horizontal bar attached to the wall, and perform a series of exercises to warm up and strengthen the muscles. These exercises focus on developing proper alignment, posture, balance, and flexibility. The barre work also helps participants to improve their turnout, which is the outward rotation of the hips that is characteristic of ballet.

After the barre work, the class moves to the centre floor for adagio (slow and controlled) and allegro (fast and energetic) exercises. Participants learn a variety of ballet steps, such as pliés, tendus, relevés, dégagés, and jumps. The teacher guides the class through combinations and sequences, teaching the technical aspects of ballet technique while emphasising fluidity, grace, and musicality.

Throughout the class, participants also focus on developing their strength, flexibility, and body awareness. Floor exercises and stretches may be included to improve core strength, extension, and overall body alignment. Additionally, centre work may incorporate turns, pirouettes, and petite allegro (small jumps) to enhance coordination, agility, and precision.

The Adult Ballet class emphasises proper technique and alignment, but also encourages participants to express themselves and find joy in the movement. The class provides a space for adults to connect with their bodies, improve posture and gracefulness, and experience the artistry of ballet. Participants are encouraged to develop their musicality, interpretation, and personal style within the framework of classical ballet.
